Certificate Course in Maritime Catering (CCMC)

A Saloon Rating after successful completion of pre- sea course, joins vessel as General Steward or Trainee/2nd Cook and subsequently become Chief Cook/Chief Steward who is the in-charge of Catering Department.

 â¦ Chief cook takes care of Ship’s food preparation, provision stores, general hygiene and housekeeping. The Chief Cook is usually one of the most pampered and loved person on board

⦁ A few years of experience allows them to serve as specialist cook for different cuisines in “Cruise Liners” or join Star Hotels at shore.

COURSE SYLLABUS:
⦁ Pre-sea Saloon Rating course will cover common syllabi for the Ratings like, English (Nautical Terms), Etiquette, Mathematics, Physics, Health Hazards & Personal safety, Ships & Shipping Industries.
⦁ Use of Life Saving & Fire Fighting Appliances, Safe Working Practices, First Aid, Navigation, Ship’s Maintenance, Signaling & Ship Visit.
⦁ They also undertake exclusive training programme in subjects like Food Production, Housekeeping, Hygiene & Front Desk Service.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Xth Std. Pass from Govt. recognised board with subjects English, Mathematics & Science with 40% aggregate. English 40% in Xth / XIIth (or)
  • XIIth Std. (any stream) Govt. recognised board with 40% aggregate. English 40% in Xth / XIIth but with subjects English, Mathematics & Science at Xth Std. (or)
  • Pass in 2 year ITI course approved by DVET with minimum 40 % aggregate marks in final year of ITI & 40 % aggregate in English 40% in Xth / XIIth

AGE LIMIT :

Min. 17years 6 months – 25 yrs (maximum) at the time of commencement of course, (or)

VISION :

 No Color Blindness, 6/6 Vision in each eye. No Eye Glasses permitted,

 

RELAXATION OF AGE LIMIT & SCHOLARSHIP BENEFIT :

Eligibility criteria for admission in Pre-sea Maritime courses Age relaxations as per Latest DGs Training circular 12 of 2020.

The maximum age limit of Male candidates for GP Rating and CCMC courses as follows:  

General Category

Scheduled Caste  (SC)

Scheduled Tribe  (ST)      

Non-creamy layer of  (OBC)

- for SSC & ITI -25 years and Candidate Holding Degree or Diploma – 27 years

- 30 years

 - 30 years

- 28 years

The maximum age relaxation for women candidates of each category shall be relaxed by additional 2 years.candidate who are undergone by GP Rating and CCMC course.

Benifit-"scholarship":-for women  Ratings scholarship already been distributed by MTT (Maritime Training Trust) for Rs.100,000/- of each women candidate who are undergone by GP Rating and CCMC course.
